I don't have a copy of Volpone, but I recall seeing one that I can go pick up.
I just bought a book called "In Shakespeare's Day." It is a compilation of writings, indexed by date, from WS's contemporaries. It includes the known references to WS, but also includes a great many comments that have nothing to do with him, but which speak to the issue of life in his times. The editor has take the time to find commentary that relates to things experienced by the characters.
