Now that Ganymede and I are in New York (for a few weeks, at least), we're trying to get caught up on the theatre scene. I understand there's a new play called The Boys From Syracuse, based upon The Comedy of Errors, and I'm curious as to whether anyone knows anything about it. I tend not to trust reviewers.

It's a Rogers and Hart musical (1938--it must be being revived) and, yes, it's a version of Comedy of Errors which is itself a version of The Menechmi by Plautus. www.geocities.com/Broadway/4109/syracuse.htm is a web site you might try. Songs I've heard of before include: Falling in Love With Love and Sing For Your Supper. That last, judging from the lyric (I've never actually seen the musical), was sung by the Mamas and Papas.
