Couldn't help but notice that no one's filling out member profiles. I thought it seemed like a good idea, and would like to know what I could change to make more people use them. Are there questions that people don't want to answer? Do people not want to show pictures of themselves? Or are people simply not interested?
I'm also curious if anyone's using the resoures page, or has actually read through the faq. I just want to know whether these things are worth maintaining, and if there's anything I can do to improve upon them.
Thanks!

Hi Shaxper, Well, I have to admit to not reading the faqs. I suppose I should. As for the member profiles, well, to tell the truth, a digital picture of myself is a rare commodity. ;D

Okay, I read the faqs. I want to be a "Scourge of God." (I know, only 402 posts to go. )

Heheheh. A little patience and conquering a continent or two is all it takes As for the picture thing, you CAN fill out a profile without a picture. Do you think that removing the option to include pictures would get more people (or maybe even just you) to fill one out? Or does it not really matter to you? Just trying to get a feel as to whether I should do something to improve upon it or simply delete it entirely.

I kind of like the pictures. It's nice to see a face behind the various avatars and post. I guess I'll fill out a profile and add a photo when one becomes available (this may require divine intervention ).

If I can offer some suggestions for your Resources page: 1. The Shakespeare Authorship Page. ShakespeareAuthorship.com/ This is a site that promotes the theory that Shakespeare wrote Shakespeare. As that happens to be my opinion, I suppose that I could be accused of bias. However, I do find the articles here well researched and informative. But, what really makes this a great resource is that it includes links to many other sites that support other authorship theories. 2. The Shakespeare Authorship SOURCEBOOK. www.sourcetext.com/sourcebook/index.htm This one is an Oxfordian site. We are "treated" to twin Oxford/Shakespeare pictures on the home page. What makes this site outstanding, though, is that it includes virtually every contemporary reference to Shakespeare arranged chronologically. The references are in the original spelling and are much fuller than the references cited in most books and other web sites. 3. The Compendium of Common Knowledge. www.renaissance.dm.net/compendium/home.html This is for your Renaissance England section. It's designed to provide background information about Elizbethan England, primarily for participants in Renaissance Fairs. This one has got all the little details about everyday life in England during the reign of Elizabeth I.

Thanks, Duke Harry I'll add those as soon as I get a chance. Your profile's up, by the way. Oh, and congrats on being the first user on this board (aside from me) to hit 100 posts!

Your FAQ is quite thorough and answers a lot of the typical questions I get from new members at Glenmore and Trapdoor (both proboards messageboards). Erm... quite thorough, yes. If you want to see how someone else did basically the same thing, check the sticky threads in The Visitor's Room at Glenmore. See, not as thorough.
Do you even want mere money lenders to fill out profiles? I loved reading the ones that were up, btw. Nice to see that everyone on the profile page has pleasantly twisted, dry, erudite senses of humour; makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.
